Thank You For Carrying Me

Hi Everybody,

Hope your weekend is going great!  I got to go learn some more about grooming, and officially work my first day as a groomer the first week in November...Yippie!

Easel Card

This card was inspired by the challenge at "Stampin Sisters in Christ".  I wasn't even sure if I was going to get it completed, as one thing or another went wrong, and before it was over I had a major headache.  However, I was determined!  My first major issue was the horse.  A dapple grey horse has to be one of my favorite colors, mostly because of how prominent the dapples are - that was my challenge, and I hope you are able to see them in this card.

The image is called "Cowgirl & Horse", and colored with promarkers, and Polychromos pencils (black area on horse).  The silver frame corners were made out of aluminum foil (tutorial by Scraps & Things), and the horse shoes were made with a/c duck tape.  For the life of me, I can't seem to find the tutorial on this one, but I will keep looking.  The papers came from a haul I got at my local thrift store, and I made the sentiments in Paint Shop Pro.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by.

Across The Miles

Hi Everybody,

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.  The weather here in Florida has been incredibly beautiful the last couple of days.  It's been either hot, rainy, or both.  To say the least,  it's nice to have some cooler weather with lots of sunshine.

I started this card last Thursday, but only had a little time each day to work on it.  The good news is, I got to go work a couple of days (as an apprentice groomer) with a young girl I've been anxious to learn from.  I was so excited, I could hardly contain myself.  The not so good news is, one of my little dogs as been diagnosed with diabetes, and getting him back and forth to the vets has been time consuming.  He is doing better, and we are praying that he continues to improve.

I titled this card "Across The Miles", and did not add a sentiment to it, because I will be trying to help a very good friend raise money to adopt a precious little girl.  I hope to be telling you all about her in the very near future.

The stamp is called "You've Got Mail".  I used promarkers, and wanted to try and give the mailbox a weathered/vintage look (I hope I succeeded).  I made the little roses out of some yellow ribbon, that I first partly colored to imitate fall roses.  I used hot glue and thread to attach them to the card.  I'm not sure why, but the flowers on the right are not lavender as they appear to be in this photo..weird...lol  The papers are called "Homestead", and I cut out the design around the image, and on the coordinating paper behind the image.  I made the postage stamp tag in Paint Shop Pro, using a dingbat font called "Penmanship Birds".

I hope you like the card, and thanks for stopping by.

New Baby

Hey everybody.  Hope everyone is doing great this Tuesday.  I've completed another card, and this one I made for one of my best friend's new grandbaby.  Check out that name!  I started out with the idea of making another fold card, but it just wasn't meant to be, so I opted to keep it simple.

I'm still struggling with using a camera, so I do apologize for the image lighting being so dark.  I'm working on building a light box, and I am determined to get this camera thing all figured out!  Any advice is much appreciated.

The stamp is a DDS stamp called "Sleeping Infant", and I've colored him with Promarkers.  I cut out the frame by hand (by the grace of God) with an exacto knife, and did a back stitch around it.  I made the little bow from some scrap ribbon.  The papers (which weren't that great to work with) came from good ole Walmart.  They're from Colorbok, and have a texture, although you probably can't see it from this image.  The sentiment (from scrapbook.com/quotes) - I made in Paint Shop Pro, and is on the inside of the card.  I tried to get a shot of it with the camera, but for some reason, the image kept getting this fluoresent shadow/glow "thing" in it and looked terrible.  So I had to settle for showing you the finished .jpg

Webby Greetings

Hi all,

I was suppose to have gotten this posted yesterday, but by the time I got the LO like I "halfway" wanted it, there was no sun left...lol  I'm not much for celebrating Halloween, but I thought it was a great subject for my next card.  The fold is called a "Swing Fold".  The image I'm using is called "Goofy Spider" from my old shop Digi Doodle Shop.  He's colored with ProMarkers.  I made the sentiments in PSP, and drew the spider web.  The paper is of what was given to me as a gift.

I'm still trying to get the hang of this picture taking.  As it stands, my pictures only seem to come out good in the day time.  I guess it's all in the lighting.  Who knows, maybe I've been good enough this year to get a nice camera....but I'm not counting on it...lol

Thanks for stopping by, and having a looksie, your comments mean and help so much..xoxo

Morning All,

Yay....I'm now an employeed groomer!!  Just about 20 hours a week, but that's okay.  I'm perfectly happy with that.  I just have to go get drug tested.  As long as they don't test for coffee...I'm in good...lol  At any rate, I'm tickled pink, and just wanted to share with you.

I'm working on my #2 card, and hope to have it up today, and I hope to be around to leave all of you some love, and hoping all of you are having a great day!

xoxo

My First Card Project

Hi all,

Gosh I don't know what to start with first...lol

Okay, first things first.  I finally got the PSP tutorials started.  Most, unless requested will be basic stuff.  Just check out the sidebar...now on to my card.

Those of you that know me, know that a while back I attempted to color some stamps.  That's what got me to making this personal blog in the first place.  It was only a few times of trying, that I gained a whole new respect for all card designers, and worked even harder to make stamps more "user friendly", and leaving the stamp coloring and card designing to the pros.

Since then, Mom and I decided to close up shop for her health reasons and (at the time) my lack of time to draw, because of a p/t job which (btw) has now come to an end.....thank goodness I might add.

So now, while I am in the process of learning and pursuing a new career as a dog groomer (which I'm totally exstatic about), with no shop to run and to much time on my hands, I decided to give the card making another go.  Might as well put those markers to use right?...right.

At any rate, I got busy watching tutorials on youtube, and reading other helpfuls everywhere and anywhere I could find.  I've gone through a lot of paper, but I can now see why so many of you do this...what fun!!  As a matter of fact, I think I might have went a little crazy, as I colored six stamps in a week.  Once I got done with them, I had to figure out what kind of card to make with them.

As it turns out, one of my best friend's granddaugher has been having a couple of not so good days at her day care.  So, I took the stamps and made a little incentive project for her.  I have no idea what to call it, but she loves to put things on the frig.  As you'll see, I made a double pocket (I think that's what's called).  I then cut the images out, put a backing on them, then a magnet with a positive saying on the back of each, and then laminated them...she is four...lol.  When she does something good at school, she gets to put one of these images on her frig.

Now, I have to add, that card making is not the only thing new to me.  I'm not to great at taking pictures.  Plus the camera is new (to me), but I did the best I could at this point.  Reading tutorials on this as well.

I do apologize for the long post, but I had a lot to tell.  Thanks so much for taking the time to have a looksie.  If any of you know of some favorite tutorials on taking pictures and card coloring/designing, by all means let me know.

With ALL that said, here are the images of my first posted card project.

The paper and ribbons are from gifts, so I have no idea where they came from.  The images were colored with ProMarkers, but with too many colors to mention.
