Grooming

Hi Everyone,

I know it's been forever in a day since I've been on blogger, but (in addition to a full plate) I kinda got burned out on card crafting and needed to just walk away for a bit.  Plus, I had some things I needed to focus "fully" on in order to move ahead.  As some of you know I've been trying to build a new career as a dog groomer, which is where 80% off ALL my time has been.   I've been studying like crazy, upgrading my tools (sometimes you're only as good as your tools), and am now working on an album for customers to view at the shop.

All that being said, here is the start of the (digital) photo album I'm working on.  Thanks for stopping by hand having a looksee.  I'm starting to get that "want to card craft" feeling again, so I'll BBS crafting.

Miss you all, and talk to you soon..  HAVE A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Very Full Plate

Hi Everyone,

Life is pretty full right now.  As some of you know, Mr. Bugs (my 21 year old horse) has been having problems with his upper respiratory and throat.  Because of this, I've had to change the way I leave him in the pasture.  A lot of short periods and then back in his stall under a cool fan.  This means more work for me, but that's okay.

My work (which I love) has also become very busy.  Grooming is very gratifying, but also very physically demanding and can be stressful.  After work there's dinner to get ready and then clean up, and then evening chores that you have on a farm.

It's still up in the air, but my FIL may be moving in with us, and I'll be helping take care of him as well.  Needless to say, I won't be crafting near as much as I would like, and it will more than likely be on the back burner more than not.  Thanks for understanding if I don't get around to see everyone, but know that I do get to admire your work through Bloglovin.

Hugs
Judy

Anything Goes at TTCRD

Hey Everybody,

Hope all is well, and that everyone is enjoying the summer.  It's been crazy busy for me the last few weeks, but most of it in a good way.

This week at TTCRD, we are being sponsored by Anne's Digital ArtI chose this adorable image called Birdhouse and Wild Roses, colored with my promarkers.  Keeping it pretty simple, I just used a Spellbinders die, and thin ribbon and paper from my stash.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day and stopping by.  I hope you'll come join us at TTCRD.  We'd love to have you.

The image was colored with my promarkers, and the papers and brads are from my stash.

A Productive Time

Hey Everybody,

Some of you know that I've been learning a new trade as a dog groomer, and was blessed to find a p/t job as an apprentice.  Well about three weeks or so ago, I was really challenged when the head (and only other groomer) decided to move on to her own business.  The owners put their faith in me that I could do the grooms, and (on a very nervous first day) I managed to groom four dogs.  The customers were happy, and I was still alive at the end of the day....lol

The days are physically demanding, most of the dogs don't want to be groomed, and the customers want to know when their dogs are going to be done.  But I'm having the time of my life..:D  They will be hiring another groomer to share the week, so my f/t hours and lack of time and energy are temporary.

All that being said, please forgive me if I'm slow getting around to visit you. I do get to see most everyone's crafts from my Bloglovin emails, but time only allows me about 20 minutes of internet time each day.

I will be sharing some more good news in just a short time, and will be putting up a couple more free stamps this weekend.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great week!

Twist of Faith - My last challenge

Hey Everybody,

Hope everyone had a super weekend and that you have even a better week.  It seems like forever sense my last post, but I am working full time for a little while.  I plan to post more about it, but for now it's on to my card.

This will be my last post as a Twist of Faith design team member and although I was just part time, I've been truly blessed by the entire team, Pauline (Our leader) and thank them for having me.

The theme this week is to use a sketch.  My brain was fried by the weekend, and so I totally forgot to use it.  Please forgive my forgetfulness, and come join in with us.  All the girls have some wonderful inspiration for you, and our sponsor this week is Digi Darla's.  Be the lucky winner, and get a choice of 5 digital stamps!

I've used this adorable image "Butterfly Wonder", and have colored her with my Pro Markers.  The paper is from The Preppy Princess Stack by DCWV, and the butterfly is from Recollections.  The simple sentiment is actually from an alphabet trim I got at the thrift store.

Thanks for taking the time out of your day and stopping by.

Here's the sketch I was suppose to use

Clean & Simple with Twist of Faith

Hey Everybody,

Hope everyone had a great weekend, and a wonderful "Memorial Day" for those of you in the USA.

This week at Twist of Faith, we are keeping it clean and simple, and our sponsor is Milk Coffee Stamps, who will be offering 5 images to one lucky winner.

The image I'm using is called "Girl and Music Box".  She just has the sweetest face doesn't she?  I've colored her with my Pro Markers, and the only other thing I did was did some hole punching around the frame and colored it in a bit with the pink.  The music notes, swirls, and the word Believe are all from EK Success.  I completed the sentiment with "Listen &" in my PSP program.

I do hope you'll stop by, and join in this week's challenge.  Be sure to check out the other DT member cards, and if you like them, let them know.

Thanks for taking the time out of your day and stopping by.

Twist of Faith Challenge "Ties That Bind"

Hey everybody,

Wishing all the Moms a very Happy Mother's day!  Hope you got lots of hugs and kisses from all your loved ones this past weekend.

Ties That Bind

This week we are sponsored by Meljen's Designs, who will be offering 4 images to our lucky winner.  To play along, we want you to use some twine in your creation and included a scripture, uplifting verse, or positive quote/words.

I had a hard time getting my mojo in gear this week, and nearly ran out of time on this one.  Although it didn't turn out like I had originally planned, I "think" I'm happy with it...hmmm still thinking on it.

I didn't do much coloring on this one, but what coloring I did do I used my Promarkers.  I attempted a little 3-D effect, and wrapped the twine around the spool and followed the already given sentiment.  The flowers, ribbons, beads, ric rac and lace (gathered for a ruffle effect) all came from my stash, and the paper was purchased at a thrift store.  I did use a new Martha Steward Butterfly Punch I got at a Michael's sale.

Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day and stopping by, and I hope you'll come join us this week.

Summer Swing

Hey Everybody,

Hope everyone had a super duper great weekend.  I got to spend some time with my older and younger brother (a rare occasion when they are both here), and I managed to whack my foot with a hay rake...lol, and now it hurts.  Ah but it is too far from my heart to be concerned, just something I can laugh about when it stops hurting.

Ok, so on to my card.  I've had this way to adorable image called "Summer Swing Time" (by Di's Digi Stamps), for quite some time and why I haven't used it before now is beyond me, because, I just totally love ALL her creations.  They are having a "anything but square" challenge, and so I was off and creating.  As usual, I've colored it with my Pro Markers.

Other mediums used:

Paper: Floral print and green from Michaels sale rack, and gimp from my good friend Tona.
Bow: Made from ribbon from my stash
Punches: (print) Baby's Breath by Easy Cut Multi Punch, and the white I used some scalloped scissors I got at a moving sale.
Flowers & Stems:  Most from my stash, but the two blue flowers were white and I took them apart and colored them go with the other colors.
Pearls: Stash

I would also like to mention that this card was inspired by Lyndsey Marie Designs.  Not only are her creations stunning, she has tutorials and lots of other things to share.  So, do yourself a favor and stop by her blog.

Thank you so very much for taking the time out of your day, and stopping by.

Sketch Challenge at Twist of Faith

Hey everyone,

It's been a real crazy week for me, so I apologize for not making my way around to visit everyone.   Not to make excuses, but I worked lots of hours, and then at the end of the week hurt my back, and was in bed all day Sunday.  Anyway, all is better now and I promise to get by and visit you.

This week at Twist of Faith we are having a sketch challenge, which (believe it or not) I've never done before.  It was more of a challenge than I thought it would be, and for that reason I kept things simple.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Stamps, and the winner gets a cool 7 stamps of your choice!

I got to use their adorable stamp called "Best Friends" that I colored with my ProMarkers.

Other mediums used
Paper: Stash
Fabric: Stash
Heart: Thrift store find
Flower embellies:  From my friend Tona
Sentiment:  Made in Paint Shop Pro

Thanks for taking the time out of your day and stopping by, and I hope you'll come join us in this fun challenge.

Birthdays with Twist of Faith

Hey Everybody,

It's a "Birthday" challenge this week at "Twist of Faith".  Our sponsor is Beccy's Place, and the winner of this challenge will receive three digital stamps.  Beccy has some really adorable stamps, so I hope you'll join in the chance to win.

The stamp I chose is called "Old Mailbox", and of course I've colored it with my Pro Markers.  I can't remember where I seen the "Magic card" the first time, but I thought this challenge would be the perfect opportunity to give it a go.  You can find the tutorial I watched on youtube here, and learn more about the origin of the design.  I also did some paper piercing, and used a pair of pattern scissors around the edges.

Other mediums used:
Papers, leaves & brads:  A gift from my good friend Tona
Roses: Made from my stash paper (rose bud tutorial here) Note: I did not have to use a punch to cute out the rose petals for the small or large roses.
Swirls, beads, envelope, and corner borders: Made with scraps from my stash.
Distress Ink: Brown by Rangers
Sentiment: Made in Paint Shop Pro

Thank you for taking the time out of your day and stopping by.

Blessings To You

Hey everybody,

It's time for another challenge at Twist of Faith, and this time around our challenge is to create a shaped card (something other than square or rectangle).  This definitely was a challenge for me, because I needed to do something that didn't require dies to make the shape.  Luckily I found inspiration at Maria's Studio, and you can see the project she made that inspired my card.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Digi Darla Designs, and I chose this adorable stamp titled "Flower Girl" that I colored with my Pro Markers.  The winner of this challenge will get "5" stamps of their choice, so I hope you'll join in the chance to win.

My good friend Tona loaned me her Martha Stewart 4 petal punch, so that I could cut out all these little flowers - Thank you Tona!

Other mediums used:

Papers: Floral is made by Martha Steward Crafts that I got on sale at Michaels, and the solid colors are from my stash.

The darkest colors are a lot lighter than they appear in my photo.  I just wasn't able to get them lighter without changing all the other colors.

Ribbon: from my good friend Tona (bless you girl!)
Pearls: Pearl Stickers from Michaels
Swirls: Beading Wire from Walmart, and the paper swirls made with my sizzix dies.
Butterfly and leaves: butterfly and larger leaves were cut out by hand, and the smaller leaves, again my friend Tona cut some for me with her spellbinder's dies.
Border and scallop: border - made with my Martha Stewart border Punch, scallop - I just used an off brand scallop pair of scissors.

Thanks for taking the time out of your day and stopping by.

That's A Wrap

Hey Everybody,

Hope everyone is having a great week, and enjoying the Spring weather.  It's already making its way to the 80s here in Florida.

I've had this adorable image from "Mayzy Art" for awhile now, just couldn't figure out what kind of card I wanted to make with it.  It's called California Roll, and I just love her.  The image reminds me of those favorite "fits just right" jeans, that you wear until the color is nearly gone and you need patches in various areas.

I have to tell you a little story about her shoes.  These type of heals were popular when I was just starting junior high, and like all the other girls I just had to have a pair.  Mine were white with black buckles and heals.  At the time I wore a size 8 shoe.  However, my legs looked like ropes with knots in them, which made my size 8 look more like a size 10.  Mom had made me this cute skirt with little flowers that I wore with a sleeveless top.  I just knew I looked real good in my new shoes and outfit.  Apparently my older brother did not, because as I was heading out the door I could hear him laughing and telling mom, "She looks like Minnie Mouse". . . lol  Don'tcha just love brothers?  I'm sure I didn't think it was too funny back then, but I can laugh about it now.  Especially since I know I got him back in some devious way.

Okay, back to making the card.

I love trying new things, and with this one I played around with quilling.  There's some really incredible art made with quilling, and I can't wait to learn how to do more.  I made the little "Sushi" embellishment out of some toothpicks and (as you can see) with some of the quilling.

Other mediums used:

Ribbon: Walmart
Quilling: Hobby Lobby
Pearls:  Micheals Pearl Stickers
Papers:  White and small green on tag from my stash, large checks and solid green from Martha Stewart Essentials Paper Pad, and the small checks from assorted paper given to me as a gift.  Thank you Tona!
Sentiment: Made in Paint Shop Pro

Hey Everybody,

Hope everyone had a super weekend, gorgeous weather, and lots of crafting fun!

Papers:  Serendipity Paper Pack by Hot Off The Press

Raise The Bar

Hey everybody,

Yayyy, it's Friday.  I hope you all have had a super week, and are ready for the weekend.

I'm tickled pink to have been one of the top 6 at Raise The Bar, and asked to be a guest designer for this week's challenge.  You could have a change to win too. The challenge this week is  "Carnival/Circus Day".  So come on by, and check out all the fabulous inspiration.

Here's my take on the challenge

The stamp is called "Carousel", and is one of my favorite stamps from the Digi Doodle Shop days.  I colored it with promarkers, and then used my handy dandy exacto knife to cut it out, and dimensionals for that 3-D effect.

Other mediums used:

Embellishments: white flowers from Walmart, glitter Bow from the Dollar Tree.
Trim: ric rac from Michaels, and I used ribbon from my stash to wrap around it.
Paper: purple from Colorbok, cream was part of a gift, and I used a Martha Stewart border punch.
Sentiment: created in Paint Shop Pro

Thanks for taking the time out of your day, and stopping by.

ps. be sure to check out my "free" page, you might find this stamp there one day.

Blog Candy Winner & a little note

Hey everybody,

My very good friend "Maggie" of Maggie's Cat House was part of a blog hop through Paper Bloggers Unite, and was offering some sweet blog candy.  I was lucky enough to get picked, and wanted to share my goodies with you.

Be sure you stop by and say hi to Maggie.  She's incredibly talented and I often find inspiration from her creations.

Thank you Maggie!!

If you're one of my regular followers, then you probably know by now that I post a card/project about once a week or so, and then drop by to say hello to everyone and leave some love.  I wanted to let you all know it might be a little bit longer this time around, because I'm going to be adding a few things to my blog, and one of these "things" is for you!  No . .  it's not a blog candy contest, but it is something that I will be sharing often as a "thank you" to my followers.  So let your friends know, and keep a watch out.
