Shabby Chic Pocket Letter

Hey Everybody,

Hope you're having a great weekend.  This was a super fun pocket letter to create, and I'm finally able to post it now that it's been received.  Who doesn't like to create "Shabby Chic"..Super fun!  As always with these pocket letters, we get to use up a lot of our scraps and stash.  I love that!

With this pocket letter, I used Pricilla Pie by Krista Smith (for my card and letter) and colored her with both Pro Markers and Copics, and (of course) I used my Cameo for a lot of the cuts.  All the embellies are from varies buttons, beads, jewelry pieces, etc., and the majority of my papers are from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving comments.  It means so much, and is so very appreciated.

Green & Peachish Pocket Letter

Hey Everybody =)  Hope everyone is having an awesome week.  I get to share another pocket letter with you today.  This pocket letter went to my new pal IL.  It was just a joy to create, and the best part is I think I have a new friend for life.  You just can't get any better than that!

Okay, so here we go.....

In this PL I used this darling image from Krista Smith of Saturated Canary, and colored her with my Copics and Promarkers.  I used my Cameo (I love that thing!) on of the most of the cuts (all of which came from my stash of paper. The top rose was made from my ribbon stash, and the yo-yo key chain came from so gorgeous fabric my most wonderful friend Tona shared with me. =)

Thank you so so much for stopping by, it means the world to me!

One of my favorites

This pocket letter, by far, is one of my most favorite I've done.  I love these types of colors and the country feel that they have.  The gal that I sent this to lives in WY.  In her profile she mentioned three elements that I tried to capture; vintage, her westie, and she's a hiker and tree hugger....Thanks for stopping by =)

Hi all again,  =)  Here is my second post, and a special one at that.  This is a pocket letter that my mom asked me to make for her friend of 40+ years.

I used a Mo image "summer sisters", and colored them with Copics and PMS.  Of course I used my CS, and have added some close ups.  Thanks again for stopping by, it means the world!

To A Good Home... =)

Morning, morning, morning...

The one thing about these pocket letters is that you must (or at least should) wait until your recipient gets it before you post it.  I'm never sure if I'm more excited to receive or send, but either way the anticipation is over the top!

Now, as I write this post, I'm questioning what is it about these pocket letters that is drawing them in by droves.  For me, it's that they have a purpose and a good one.  You know you are doing something specific for someone, and (you pray) that it puts a BIG smile on their face.

Anyway, this next pocket letter was done for a gal that just bubbles with personality.  She has a super cute blog, with tons of cuteness throughout.

So here we go.....

My Favorite Pocket Letter So far!!!!!!

Good Morning, & Happy Friday,

This is the first time I've been asked to create a "themed" pocket letter, and (to be honest) I wasn't sure how I would do.  It turns out that this one is now my favorite, not only because it's about our Lord and Savior, but because I was able to express my love for God in a way I didn't think possible for me.

I've included a few up close photos of some of the things I handcrafted, and although they may not look it, they all were pretty easy to make.  Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day, and stopping by. =)

So, here we go......

All Handcrafted Pocket Letter

Hi and good morning everyone!

This is probably going to be a bit lengthy, so I apologize in advance.  There's just a lot to tell. =)  This is a pocket letter I did about 5 weeks ago, but I could not post it, until it was received allllllllll the way down under in Australia!!

This PL went to a very talented lady, and I just knew I needed to step it up several notches, as she makes EVERYTHING!!  Be sure to check out Kimi's blog ( Unique Scrappiness).  She has tons of inspirations, tutorials etc., and is a MUST see.

Okay, so here's the PL, and a little about some of the pockets.  I added a few close ups, so you could better see some of the pockets.  The Corset was created with my Cameo (LOVE that thing!), and I added some shabby chic crochet lace (not sure if that's what it is called).  The Trellis was super easy to make, and I used quilling paper to make the little roses.

 photo JT542015KD_BLOG.jpg

Because of the small size, it was easier to hand stitch around the heart than use a sewing machine, and I used some stash to make the stick pin.

 photo JTPinCushion.jpg

I didn't think I was going to be able to pull the "shaker pendent" off, but with the help of a Tim Holtz pendent blank I was able to.  I just typed out the words and used my 1" circle punch and glued it to the rim of the pendent frame.

 photo JTShaker.jpg

The idea of the umbrella and gloves came from all the little pretties I see in the mini houses being made.  I used felt to make the gloves, material and wire to make the umbrella.

Happy Mail!!!

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share the last few pocket letters that I've gotten from some very creative PLPS.  I meant to upload these as they came in, but I hit a bump last week.  We lost Britches (you can see him on "my animals" page) due to an enlarged heart.  We had him for 15 years, and will miss him always.  I want to smile when I think of him, so on to happy things.

It's so much fun to see all the different styles, and then to find wonderful goodies and treats in the pockets.  Such fun!  Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day and stopping by.

Pocket Letters!!!

Good Morning Everyone,

I wanted to share a new trend of crafting that I am just having a blast with.  This is such an awesome way to use up those scraps that you don't want to throw out, but don't know what to do with, plus a great way to meet new people and make new friends.

Do yourself  a favor and check it out  They have groups and events to match anyone's likes, and if you don't find one you like, you can create a group or event of your own, or just play outside the groups.

There seems to be two ways peeps are doing these; collectors and/or swappers.  I'm not the collecting type, so swapping works best for me.  I'm able to find fun ways to use up my scraps and send off goodies to a new home, and in return I get the same.  I just PLAIN FUN!!

There's really no set rule on how to make these and a lot of girls put little goodies behind the pockets that they crafts, but I decided to make the little goodies I send part of the decorations.

Here are the first 3 I've made.  I asked my recipients a few questions so I could hopefully create their PL in ways they would like.  I couldn't post them before now, because I like to wait for the recipient to get them first, but here they are.

Side Step Card

Hey Everybody, I hope everyone had a great weekend, and enjoyed the holiday.  My husband and I have been catching up on home maintenance, but I'm enjoying the extra time with him, and our gorgeous Florida weather!

I started out with the intentions of making a CAS card, but somehow ended up making a side step.  I love The Paper Shelter, and that's where I found this adorable image called Oh My! which I colored with Copics and Promarkers.

Now, I don't know anything about a tiera, and I didn't have anything to make a mini-traditional one.  I did find a picture of one that had roses and beads, so I did my best to make one similar using wire, ribbon and 1/2 beads.  I made the tag with Silhouette, added a couple of clear beads and string pearls around the image, and made a little double bow to finish it off... I hope :)  The papers are from Hobby Lobby, and that's about it.  Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day, and stopping by.

April's Free Stamp

Hi All,

Sorry I'm late with my bad.  Just a couple of things.  Please, please,..please don't share my stamps.  I'm not a great artist, and some of these stamps took me several days and a lot of hours.  It really hurts my heart when I see them on Pinterest.  If someone wants to know where you got the stamp, please send them here.  If they miss the time it's free, I'm a good person, I'll send them a copy. :)  Please, I don't want to stop sharing my stamps because of this. Thanks for listening to me.

This month I'm going to let you choose between 2 stamps.  Tu Tu Shy, or All Better.

Okay, 4 share stinks and unless I figure something else out, please email me for your copy.  Oh, and don't forget to let me know when you've created something.  I'd love to see what you've made.

Funnel Card

Hey Everybody,

Hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend.  It's been a crazy few weeks for us.  We've had family down, and have just started our hay cutting season.  We've also got some new neighbors, which is the reason for this card.

The inspiration came from two places, one from Tracy from My Creative Place, and Kittie from Kittie Kcraft.  You have got to check both these blogs out, if you don't know about them already.  These gals are so dog gone talented.

Now, I couldn't find a tutorial to follow, but hopefully I got close.  I wish now that I had added more to the front, but who knows maybe I'll have a last minute idea.

The image is Wryn New Nest from Tiddly Inks, and I colored this image with both Copics and Promarkers.  I used my cameo silhouette for the frame, fence, and congrats & welcome tag, and a little flower punch for the petals.  The stems were easy enough to do by hand, the ribbon is some stash, and that's about it.  Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day, and stopping by.

FREE Lattice Edge (Cutting File)

Morning, Morning, Morning Everyone

I created another image to use in the Silhouette Studio, and this time I converted it to a cutting file.  I wasn't aware that I needed to do that for others to be able to use it easily and quickly.  Here's a shot of what I made.  Just keep in mind that my blade is dull, and I haven't changed it yet.  I didn't want to use a new blade just for practicing.  Anyway here it is:

 photo Lattice Swirl Edge2_Judy Thompson.jpg

Because 4 Share is a total pain in the "you know what" (until I can figure something else out), you'll have to contact me for a copy of the cutting file.

FREE Png File for Silhouette Studio

Good Morning Everybody,

I just spent the last week with some of my relatives (from Virginia).  Always makes me home sick.   Anyway, I didn't want to make a big mess (working on a card), so I decided to see what I could do as far as creating my own cutting files to use with my Cameo Silhouette.  As you'll see, there are some improvements I need to make, but all in all it cut out pretty good.  I seen a similar design somewhere (can't remember where now), but it reminded me of a 1/2 a heart.  So, here's what I came up with.

 photo Lattice Swirl Edge.jpg

Not that it matters, but this image is white (not cream), and the background is blue (not green).  I must've had my camera set on something  At any rate, I thought I did pretty good for my first time around.  I created the image in my Coral Paint Shop Pro program, and saved it as a .png file.  I then used the trace feature, did some compound pass "stuff" (real technical,, and sent it to the cutter.  I used plain card stock, and had it set to 4.

**If you would like a copy of this file, just shoot me an email, and I'll be glad to send it.**  Would sure put a smile on my face, if you became a follower, but I'm not going to push it.  :)

Happy Cutting!
