That's A Wrap

Hey Everybody,

Hope everyone is having a great week, and enjoying the Spring weather.  It's already making its way to the 80s here in Florida.

I've had this adorable image from "Mayzy Art" for awhile now, just couldn't figure out what kind of card I wanted to make with it.  It's called California Roll, and I just love her.  The image reminds me of those favorite "fits just right" jeans, that you wear until the color is nearly gone and you need patches in various areas.

I have to tell you a little story about her shoes.  These type of heals were popular when I was just starting junior high, and like all the other girls I just had to have a pair.  Mine were white with black buckles and heals.  At the time I wore a size 8 shoe.  However, my legs looked like ropes with knots in them, which made my size 8 look more like a size 10.  Mom had made me this cute skirt with little flowers that I wore with a sleeveless top.  I just knew I looked real good in my new shoes and outfit.  Apparently my older brother did not, because as I was heading out the door I could hear him laughing and telling mom, "She looks like Minnie Mouse". . . lol  Don'tcha just love brothers?  I'm sure I didn't think it was too funny back then, but I can laugh about it now.  Especially since I know I got him back in some devious way.

Okay, back to making the card.

I love trying new things, and with this one I played around with quilling.  There's some really incredible art made with quilling, and I can't wait to learn how to do more.  I made the little "Sushi" embellishment out of some toothpicks and (as you can see) with some of the quilling.

Other mediums used:

Ribbon: Walmart
Quilling: Hobby Lobby
Pearls:  Micheals Pearl Stickers
Papers:  White and small green on tag from my stash, large checks and solid green from Martha Stewart Essentials Paper Pad, and the small checks from assorted paper given to me as a gift.  Thank you Tona!
Sentiment: Made in Paint Shop Pro

Y B Normal

Hey Everybody,

Hope everyone had a super weekend, gorgeous weather, and lots of crafting fun!

My card this time around was inspired by Kimberly from (Just Wordz) using this adorable image from Redonkulous Designs, called "Funny Face".  Isn't she just the cutest?  I pretty much followed Kimberly's lead, coloring her with my Pro Markers.

Other mediums used:

Papers:  Serendipity Paper Pack by Hot Off The Press
Ribbon:  Pink from stash, Striped from Michaels
Foam Stickers: Walmart
Acrylic jewels: Michaels
Sentiment made in Paint Shop Pro

Thank you for taking the time out of your day and stopping by.

Mia Jazmine Willis

Hi Everybody,

Boy it seems like forever since I last posted a project.  I actually had this card done at the start of the week, but got called in to work - missing out on a good time to get a photo.

A very good friend of mine just recently had a baby girl, and so I made this card for her.  The stamp is "Sleeping Infant", and I've colored her with Pro Markers, and created a circle easel card.

Other mediums used:

Paper: K&Company
Ribbon & Ruffled Lace: My Stash
Alpha beads, flowers, flower ribbon: Michaels
Sentiment: made in Paint Shop Pro

Thanks for taking the time out of your day, and stopping by.
