Hey Everybody,
Hope everyone is having a great week, and enjoying the Spring weather. It's already making its way to the 80s here in Florida.
I've had this adorable image from "Mayzy Art" for awhile now, just couldn't figure out what kind of card I wanted to make with it. It's called California Roll, and I just love her. The image reminds me of those favorite "fits just right" jeans, that you wear until the color is nearly gone and you need patches in various areas.
I have to tell you a little story about her shoes. These type of heals were popular when I was just starting junior high, and like all the other girls I just had to have a pair. Mine were white with black buckles and heals. At the time I wore a size 8 shoe. However, my legs looked like ropes with knots in them, which made my size 8 look more like a size 10. Mom had made me this cute skirt with little flowers that I wore with a sleeveless top. I just knew I looked real good in my new shoes and outfit. Apparently my older brother did not, because as I was heading out the door I could hear him laughing and telling mom, "She looks like Minnie Mouse". . . lol Don'tcha just love brothers? I'm sure I didn't think it was too funny back then, but I can laugh about it now. Especially since I know I got him back in some devious way.
Okay, back to making the card.
I love trying new things, and with this one I played around with quilling. There's some really incredible art made with quilling, and I can't wait to learn how to do more. I made the little "Sushi" embellishment out of some toothpicks and (as you can see) with some of the quilling.
