Raise The Bar

Hey everybody,

Yayyy, it's Friday.  I hope you all have had a super week, and are ready for the weekend.

I'm tickled pink to have been one of the top 6 at Raise The Bar, and asked to be a guest designer for this week's challenge.  You could have a change to win too. The challenge this week is  "Carnival/Circus Day".  So come on by, and check out all the fabulous inspiration.

Here's my take on the challenge

The stamp is called "Carousel", and is one of my favorite stamps from the Digi Doodle Shop days.  I colored it with promarkers, and then used my handy dandy exacto knife to cut it out, and dimensionals for that 3-D effect.

Other mediums used:

Embellishments: white flowers from Walmart, glitter Bow from the Dollar Tree.
Trim: ric rac from Michaels, and I used ribbon from my stash to wrap around it.
Paper: purple from Colorbok, cream was part of a gift, and I used a Martha Stewart border punch.
Sentiment: created in Paint Shop Pro

Thanks for taking the time out of your day, and stopping by.

ps. be sure to check out my "free" page, you might find this stamp there one day.

They're hereeeee

Hey everybody,

Just a quick update.  As mentioned in my previous post, I had a little surprise coming, and it's now ready.  As you can see, I've added some tabs to some pages.  All (but one) is as complete as I can get at this point.

Be sure to check them out, and let your friends know.  I'm sure you'll find the surprise somewhere in there.

BIG HUGS!!

Blog Candy Winner & a little note

Hey everybody,

My very good friend "Maggie" of Maggie's Cat House was part of a blog hop through Paper Bloggers Unite, and was offering some sweet blog candy.  I was lucky enough to get picked, and wanted to share my goodies with you.

Be sure you stop by and say hi to Maggie.  She's incredibly talented and I often find inspiration from her creations.

Thank you Maggie!!

If you're one of my regular followers, then you probably know by now that I post a card/project about once a week or so, and then drop by to say hello to everyone and leave some love.  I wanted to let you all know it might be a little bit longer this time around, because I'm going to be adding a few things to my blog, and one of these "things" is for you!  No . .  it's not a blog candy contest, but it is something that I will be sharing often as a "thank you" to my followers.  So let your friends know, and keep a watch out.

xo

Framed & Lighted Birthday

Hey everybody,

Hope you all are having a super week, good whether and lots of crafting.

This time around I did not create a card or even use my ProMarkers, but this project still needs a little explaining.

My younger brother drives an 18 wheeler, and for his birthday I had the idea to make him a crafted truck and some how be able to light up the truck lights.

Here's what I used and how I did it:

Stamp by Daisy Doodles called Keep On Truckin'  - I used the negative effect in my Paint Shop Pro program to create a silhouette with the stamp, typed the happy birthday sentiment and printed it out on some card stock I got as part of a gift.

The silver was created with border stickers, a/c duct tape, silver thread, and a small amount of silver with a uniball pen, and I used orange and clear rhinestones to represent the running lights.

Headlights:  I found a site called Model Train Software, and was able to buy a light kit that runs off of a watch type battery, which actually included light switches (you can see them bottom left of the photo).  I made the headlight covers out of (believe it or not) clear plastic from a water bottle and vellum, and put it all in a plain black picture frame.

Thanks for taking the time out of your day, and stopping by.

I would like to enter into the following challenges:

Party Time Tuesday 3 of 3 (I used 3 sizes of rhinestones, 3 colors - black, silver and tan, 3 words in my sentiment)

Rejoice (Easel Book Card)

 Hey Everybody,

Hope you all are having a super Sunday!

This card was so much fun to make, I could hardly contain myself while working on it.  I got the idea while searching for some inspiration, and ran across something called "Bookatrix".  I'm sure many of you have heard of it, but it was new to me.  If you haven't, just google and you'll see some amazing works of art!  Now I didn't want to make something as big as what I was seeing, so I made my own pattern and created an easel card.

The stamp is by Di's Digital Designs, called Fairy Beary Hugs, and I colored her and Fairy Beary with my ProMarkers.  Isn't it just precious?  The beautiful scripture is from Daydream Designs, and is from the "Dream Team Scripture Set 3".  I thought it was just perfect for this image.

No matter which angle I took my photo, I could not get the Cone Flower to show the way it really appears, but in short I drew a simple design and used A/C duct tape and then traced around the edges to give it a embossed effect as my embellishment.

Other Mediums:
Trim; Border Peel Offs by Mark Richards
Glitter by Creatology
Pearl Stickers and Ribbon from Michaels
Paper by K&Company

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day and stopping by.
