One Of A Kind

Hey Everybody,

Hope you all are keeping snug and warm.  Brrrr...it's cold outside here this morning.... 36 degrees!  Now that may not be a big deal for some folks, but I'm in Florida.  We usually do best at 70 or higher. :)

So on with my card....

One Of A Kind

I may not be getting better, but I'm getting a little quicker.  I've been wanting to make a twisted easel card, and this one just kind of came together...I love it when that happens.

The image is called Deevonne by Hannah Lynn, at Crafts and Me.  My good friend Dana of Dana's Inspirations did a fabulous tutorial using Prisma Pencils (using the Forever Rose Image from Crafts and Me), and although I colored my image with my ProMarkers I was still able to learn so much from watching her.  She also has other tutorials that are a MUST see.

The beads and wire flowers were inspired by Leanne of LuvLee Scrappin.  I actually found her on YouTube.  You can find her tutorial here, but I assure you, you'll find many more that you'll just love!  The beads were bought at Hobby Lobby, and like a nummy - I threw away the package before I looked to see who they were by.  The gold leaves are from some sequin that I got at my local thrift store.

Other mediums used:

Paper; Cream color is from my stash, BP, pink frame and sentiment BP/ are from DCWV, called The Preppy Princess Stack (one of my selections from Michael's 50% off sale).  Brown and dark tan papers are also from my stash.

Dies; Martha Stewart border punch, Nestibilities (picture frame), and scallop/type scissors for the sentiment.

Ribbon; White from my stash, that I colored with my PM.

Glitter; Used on the little star on her shoulder, came from my local thrift store.

Sentiment was made in Paint Shop Pro.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day, and stopping by.  Wishing everyone a safe and Happy New Year!

Blue Without You

Hey everybody,

For me, it's about 12:30 pm-ish on Christmas and as I post my card, I wonder  what all my blogger buddies are doing at this time - on their time zone.  Whatever it is, whether you're already "snug as a bug", enjoying time (and hopefully a great meal) with family and/or friends, or frantically trying to help Santa get those last minute "things" done......I pray many things for you, but most of all I pray that you are loved and I wish you double happiness in the upcoming year.

Blue Without You

This adorable Krista Smith image, from Saturated Canary is called Nikki, and I've colored her with my ProMarkers.  Don't you just love these images?  I totally adore them all.  So much so, that I have a major hard time picking which one to buy next - although I do plan to snag each and every one of them!

Other mediums used:
Dies: Michaels (I'm starting to like this place) had a 50% off sale, and I was able to pick up a couple dies (Spellbinders Nestabilities, and Sizzix Sizzlits) that I used on this card, along with the Spellbinders Borderabilities that I won from Karen's blog (Feline Creative).

Papers:  The white paper is from Colorbok, and the blue and gold is from K & C Company.  The striped paper (I used the Sizzix die on) are from Follow Your Heart, called My Mind's Eye (another item from Karen's candy).

Flowers:  I made the rose and flowers, using the left over white paper, and some distress ink.  I had some pearls in my stash, so I used some needle nose pliers to cut them in half (that was fun :S), and placed them in the center of the flowers.  The tiny blue roses were made out of some skinny ribbon, also from my stash.

Embellishment, Ribbon & Sentiment: The heart is from Dress It Up, Ribbon from my stash and made some simple leaves to go with the bottom right flowers, and the sentiment was made in Paint Shop Pro.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day and stopping by.

Joy to the World

Hey Everybody,

Just in case any of you will be on vacation and away from your pc, I want to with everyone of you a very Merry Christmas.

My next card was inspired by my good buddy  Sarah of Aunt Bee's Pickles.
She used this same stamp "Old Wheel", combined with a stamp called "Winter Star" both from Doodle Pantry.  Being the country gal that I am, I just had to make this card.

On my card, I combined the "Old Wheel" Doodle Pantry stamp with one of the stamps from my old shop that was part of a Christmas horseshoe, coloring them with my ProMarkers, and adding a little distress ink around the edges.

The star was made with A/C tape, folded for a 3-D effect, and partly colored with promarkers to add gold to the silver.  The Joy/Lasso rope embellishment was made with some gold wire that originally had happy birthday letters hanging from it.  I just removed those and made my lasso rope.  The beads were from Hobby Lobby, and I just used some wire to make the word
Joy, adding the beads as I went.  I used Liquid Applique and glitter for the snow.  The ribbon is from good ole Walmart, and I made a little bow from the left over lasso wire, gluing it with hot glue.  The papers are by Elizabeth Brownd/K & C Company.  The sentiment is from the song "Joy To The World", and was made in Paint Shop Pro.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day, and stopping by.

Polka Dots

Hi Everybody,

Hope you all are having a great weekend, and having fun getting ready for Christmas.  Although I haven't got to use it yet, my Christmas came early when I found the Cuttlebug at 40% off.  I do, however, have it out of the box and sitting where I can look at it.

This time around, I decided to step away from making a Christmas card just to keep those learning juices flowing.  The stamp is called Ivy by Krista Smith of Saturated Canary.

I wanted to try my hand at making some paper roses, and found a video from Jennies Barn on youtube.  She used a cutting machine, but I can honestly say they are super easy to cut out by hand.  The white leaves were also easy to make,  and I just added a little distressing on the edges.  The pearls were made by gluing them to fishing line with a glue gun.  The bow was made from some ribbon from my stash as was the white lace and thin ribbon, and the pink papers came from a collection called "Scrap Happy Pinks" by Suzanne McNeill Designs, and used Liquid Applique (for the cotton balls) on her leg wraps.  The sentiment was made in Paint Shop Pro, and the little rhinestones are from my local thrift store.

**I apologize for the quality of the image.  It's funny how one time the photos turn out great, and others don't.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day and stopping by.

Good News, and some REALLY good news!

Hey everybody,

Hope you all are having a super week.  Just wanted to share a couple of really great things that happened for me this week.

Today, I took Mom out for some shopping, and we stopped at Michaels to look at easels for her.  Low and behold, they were having a 40% and 50% off sale, and I finally got a Cuttlebug!!  That's the good news.

The really good news (that I'm just totally stoked about) is, Tuesday I completed my first dog from start to finish.  My good buddy/trainer/mentor/boss, Kelly, did have to guide me to a really cute grooming finish, but I did it!  AND, starting Monday, I am officially a groomer/apprentice and on the payroll!!  Yippie!!

Here are a few pictures of this darling little Lhasa Apso, Kirby.  She was as sweet as she looks, and a great dog for me.  We would have gotten some of the completed pictures of her, but Kelly's smart phone went dead.

Thanks for stopping by.

From Our House

Hey Everybody,

Hope you all had a fabulous week, and have been enjoying your weekend.  Another pretty active week for myself, but ALL good stuff.  My dog grooming trainer has upped the antie, and I got to do some more detailed grooming last week.  She and the owners are very happy with my progress, and if this next week goes as planned I should be on their payroll by the next week!  So, please keep me in your prayers that all goes well.

This week I decided simple is a good thing, and chose an image from DDS that Mom created called "Christmas Door" (one of my favorites).  I colored it with Promarkers, and did a little ink distressing around the edges and used a large needle to create border punch - I think that's how you say it :-)

Other art mediums used:

Papers; Scrap N Tubes Christmas Papers 7, and white card stock by Colorbok
Ribbon & Pearl made my stash
Bell; From a package of mini bell ornaments, and I actually cut it in half, so that it would lay nicely on the card.
Glitter on the ornaments; From my local thrift store - wish you could see it better.
Snow; Liquid Applique
Sentiment; DDS and was made in Paint Shop Pro

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day, and stopping by.
